E-Courses - Learning Resources

The focus of the courses listed on this page are geared toward free and inexpensive. This means no college degrees. So, this is for light entertainment and for the basics on a lot of things. I am a firm believer in exercising your mind. Imagine if you were to learn a foreign language and all you did was to listen and learn one word a day. It actually would not take that long before you'd have a rudimentary base enough to have a half way decent conversation with somebody in that language. Or, if you only wanted to brush up on a subject you'd learned about in school 40 years before you could do so. I've collected these links and will continue to add to them. Personally, I've taken some of the Barnes and Noble courses, though, I understand in October, 2006, they are undergoing a revision of sorts, so, we'll see what's what after that. In the meantime, there are lots of places here to visit. Exercise your mind and enjoy!

Character Building Workshop at Writer's Village
The Character Building Workshop is an independent study of your characters using these online questionnaires. The process of filling out the forms will help you, the writer, learn about your characters on a more in-depth level. Once the questions have been answered, you will know more about the roles your characters play in your story. No longer will they be names on a page; they will become living, breathing beings as you continue writing your story.

I counted over 400 courses available, from learning how to make jewelry, to learning languages, to cooking, to computer stuff, to health and fitness to lots and lots of other topics.
