It takes as long as it is going to take for a person to move through the grieving process. Some people may seem to bounce back immediately, but in their hearts continue to reel from the loss of their loved ones. Others may cry at any little thing for months. There is no right way, nor is there a wrong way. Take your time with it. Know that the pain will lessen as time goes by. Though you don't want to hear it, it does get easier.
Remember, though, that those who have passed are not dead in the sense that they cannot hear you anymore. Whatever you want to say to them go ahead and say it. Say it aloud or say it silently in your heart. They will hear you. We can't guarantee you are going to hear them say anything back to you. But, there is life on the other side. There is golfing and there is bridge. There are jobs and there are family reunions. You can read more on our Grieving Page.
Bless you and we extend our condolences on your loss.
