In the many years it took me on my own meandering path towards a place where I could call myself a medium and a psychic channel, I read a great deal. Later, as the internet developed, I found a great many places to discover information that helped me on my journey. This page will be filled with what I used and new places to explore.
There will be a section for books and websites. There will be a place for video and music that is helpful with attaining the meditative state needed for channeling. You won't always need these things, and it is not mandatory that you read the entire book or the website for things to work for you.
What is required is that you be willing to handle your own emotional and psychological growth as your own journey moves forward. You make your promise and declaration to the universe that you will pay attention as you grow. I won't say it will not be scary, because sometimes it might be, but you will rise above that state. You will become a more responsible human being, and you will become a kinder person as you move on this journey. I did. I think you will too. Indiana Jones has nothing on a person seeking a spiritual path.
Where possible, I put the links pointing to books on Amazon. If you have a better place, like ThriftBooks.com or AbeBooks.com please try there too.

Emmanuel and Friends Facebook Group
Bartholomew on Substack and his channel Mary-Margaret Moore (There are five books channeled by Mary-Margaret Moore)
The Eagle and the Rose by Rosemary Altea.
Hearts of Space - Online Music. I first started listening to this back in the 1990s. There was a radio station out of Chicago. Now, it is available online. Free to listen to a program each week. This is transcental sort of music that helps with meditating and writing. HOS.org.
Wayne Dyer at Hay House. I first began hearing about him when I turned my attention toward learning how to channel. Wayne has since passed, as have so many who influenced me and the direction my path went. Lots, tons of books.
Ram Dass. He wrote Be Here Now. This was a book I first saw as a teenager and, through the years, would refer to it, dipping in and out as was required. Having the book to hold in your hand is better than the e-book.
Hay House. This is a publishing house geared toward motivational, encouraging works and spiritual transformation. They have lots of authors represented.
The Way of the Shaman by Michael Harner
Out on a Limb by Shirley MacLaine. I first read this as a teenager. Very instrumental in where my life eventually headed.
Writing Resources. I wouldn't be where I am today if I wasn't able to write. That's the kind of channel I am, better at recording via a keyboard than I am at verbal channeling. So, these are the things I did to become a better writer.
Medium - my Table of Contents - a great platform to become accustomed to writing and to have the stuff you write read. Membership costs $5 per month. I've been there since November of 2021, and as of 8/2025, I have over 770 articles published. I write about being a psychic, an old lady, and a writer. Just a nice mish-mash of all the things I am.
Substack - Another writing platform where I have a presence on the web. Same sort of writing that I do at Medium. I alternate writing between the two platforms. This one is free to use. Authors have extra tiers of membership that readers can join, but as of 8/2025 I have not done that. So, my stuff is free to read.
Tools of Divination
The Runes I use are accompanied by a book showing the meaning of each rune, both upright and reversed. I've only ever used this set and am, by no means, proficient. In fact, if you wanted to, you could make your own set of runes. But this was handy to have both. I resonated with what Ralph had to say about interpreting the runes. I don't know what is on the market these days, but yes, as a tool of divination, this is nice.
Tarot Cards. I have a couple of sets, but I like the Radiant Rider-Waite deck the best. Use the tiny instructional pamphlet that accompanies the cards. Basically, you can read the tarot from a deck of playing cards, but I think it's nice to have a set of "real" Tarot cards. Funny story. The first time I ever pulled any cards, I chose three. Death, the Tower, and the Hanging Man. Yikes! I shuffled the deck and pulled out another three cards. Same stinking cards. I reshuffled the deck and wouldn't you know it...I pulled the identical three cards. That's when I got busy with the instructions. It wasn't anything to worry about. Just big changes coming, an upheaval in your life, and fine times ahead, but hard work. And, that, folks, is exactly what happened. So, do like I didn't do. Don't freak out and read the interpretation of the cards.
Crystal Ball. I have one. Actually, I have several of them, but the first one I bought is a real crystal ball. I spent $200 on it in Chinatown in Oakland. I remember Seth said to me, "What self-respecting psychic doesn't have one?" It turns out all you need is an orb. I've never managed to get it to work for me, but I enjoy having it on the shelf above where I write in my study. So, a paper weight would do the trick. It need not be clear. I'm pretty sure anything would do. I got a nice-looking one with bubbles inside at a garage sale. I have never been able to get any of them to work.
A Scrying Mirror. I have one somewhere. I think. At least, I used to have a deep purple mirror with lovely, sorcerer-like symbols on the frame; stars, sun, and moon. Someday, if I clean up my study, I might actually find it. The idea is not to look directly in the mirror, but instead, at an oblique angle. Again, I can't tell you exactly what you will see just because I've never had one work for me before.
A Scrying Bowl. I don't have one, but you could make one with a bowl, a cake pan, or a pie pan from your kitchen. Fill it with water until it is so full that the surface of the water rises above the rim of the bowl. Brim full. One shake and it's going to go all over the table, which is why I've never been successful at using one. There are too many interested cats in the family, and they all want to see what Mommy is doing.
The idea is that you can communicate with Spirit using all sorts of things they refer to as tools of divination. If you allow chance to be involved, then I suppose you can let yourself off the hook if you come up with shoddy channeling. Ah, somebody in spirit just said, "Hey, don't blame us." Funny. The key is to always strive for clarity in your channeling. If you try to be the best channel you can be and not allow your own personal stuff to get in the way, the likelihood of having "good" channeling come forth is pretty good.
Hey, thanks for reading. As time goes by and I remember something that was useful I'll add it to the list.
