That's me - Pauline |
Why this post has come into existence is that I got a bill for over $700 today for three more years at BlueHost for TalkingToSpirit. I will be 70 years old in 15 days. We live on a fixed income, and I don't have a job. Well, one that pays. So, no, I can't really support a $700 hit to the bank account.
The next is to get rid of the hosting plan at BlueHost and see about migrating the pages from there to here or, because I'm a writer just rewriting them. Then, I transfer that domain to here. It has to cost less to maintain the domain at Blue Host. And, I've been a member of the Blogger team for a gazillion years.
Thanks for reading. You can find me on Medium and Substack.
Casting about now for a template I can use. Nothing could be more confusing to me than WordPress, so I know it is enormously popular I'm not going down that road again. I'm a writer. I write. I'm not such as well versed in coding, though Talking to Spirit did begin with HTML back in the day. I wrote it. I'm proud of that accomplishment, but it's also been a good 25 years since I did it. Several more versions of HTML were birthed since then. In the meantime, I've got a couple of weeks to settle upon something.
I love blue. I just love it. The original Talking to Spirit had a blue theme.
In any case, whether this post will eventually be deleted or just absorbed into the rest of it, I really don't know at this point. I am trying not to let myself become overwhelmed by the challenges I am facing. The most important part is that my writing is here, it is safe, and I might just begin to reach more people.
Thanks for reading.

A P.S. for you: Five days after posting this first blog entry, I was able to finally get the old name Talking to Spirit.com to point to Blogger. It took some doing. There was www.TalkingtoSpirit.com. There was TalkingtoSpirit.com. There was https://www.TalkingtoSpirit.com and finally, there was www.TalkingtoSpirit.com. They all work. Have you ever been at the dentist for a root canal? Yes, this was like that. So, we're set for the next ten or fifteen or maybe more years. I am pleased and will continue to write. Everywhere.
