You Like People, Don’t You?

I’ve gone through spells, myself. There was a time growing up as an Army Brat when I had one particular friend at a time. I don’t know if others were that way, though I did run into one particularly bad girl who surrounded herself with thugs in the 5^th grade. She would send them out to do her dirty work. I ran into her again in the 11^th grade. She was a preacher’s kid. I’ve steered clear of them all my life because of the experience I had with her. Perhaps I will write about her someday.

In any case, throughout my life, I haven’t had oodles of friends. But I do like people. I wouldn’t be writing here if I didn’t. But an interesting thing has happened along the way. I never knew if it was a thing, but I have a hard time remembering names and faces. The part of people I see is their inner self, which is basically good. It allows me to jump over the barrier of social distancing to make a more intimate contact with them. However, one at a time is better for me than an audience. Which is probably why I just don't get out much.

So, I apologize if I seem somewhat distant at times.

It occurred to me that I might see if I could enlist the help of Spirit to help me out with this one.

Well, making friends at the doctor’s is not something people always want to do.

That’s why I have business cards.

Well, no, but how bad can they be?

The print is too small. Pretend you are a writer, and you can emphasize that part of your life. Too much, too fast is not on point.

You mean I shouldn't say I’m psychic?

You could have a separate card for that. For instance, were you to make a comment about kitchen curtains from their childhood, and they get all gaspy, you could hand them your psychic card.

I suppose that would work. It’s too bad I don’t drink anymore.

Okay, that can be one of the things I’ll do today. Just to let everyone know, I use Microsoft Publisher to print my cards out. I can print ten business cards at a time on cardstock. I began doing that years ago when I didn’t want to purchase a box of 500 cards and wanted to see how I felt about handing them out. I’ve created a number of designs running the gamut from plain to fancy. The way I figure it is my business cards could be like a wardrobe, which I’ve never really been big on. Whatever mood I’m in is what I give to people.

The one thing I don’t want to do is put my phone number on them. The email address is enough. Also, the website. Perhaps a crystal ball for the psychic ones. Note to self: Must make an effort to learn how to use one.

I don’t believe that is necessary. All you need to do is close your eyes to see any number of possible futures available to a person.

I suppose I’d have to say that their future holds different pathways. Depending on what they do now, it might ensure the likelihood of something happening in the future.

That is called goals, and everyone has the ability to make their own.

Right. Want too hard and nothing happens. I know all about that one.

What would you say to someone desperate to get married?

Marry in haste. Repent in leisure.

Beyond that.

Well, if they are desperate to marry, that one person they believe is their true love, I think I’d explain that love is not something that responds equally. You’ve got to learn to give and to receive. Or reciprocate. You’ve got to learn to be patient with others, but to begin with yourself first.

I don’t think anyone will agree with that.

Maybe I shouldn’t put a crystal ball on the cards.

Perhaps I should call myself an insightful writer and just leave it at that.
