I decided to be bold today. It started with my To-Do list, the articles I want to write today. I don’t know why I did it, other than I will see it more easily.

for Substack 10/22/26:
The thing is, is that yesterday I didn’t write anything. I
don’t know what happened. I think I was reading. The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant
by Stephen Donaldson. I read it years ago, but it’s all a surprise and pretty
scary. I don’t remember it being that scary. Could I be thinking of the same
book? It’s just been a little confusing.
I also know I spent a little time watching YouTube videos.
There wasn’t anything that I remember other than Richard Sales going on about
something. It’s funny, that guy is such a potty mind, but he can’t seem to see
it. And, when somebody else does it he catches them right out crying, “Naughty!
Naughty!” Somehow, it works. I like him.
Seth? (Seth is my Spirit Guide…I don’t see him. I mostly
hear him. His part in this conversation is in a bold italic font.)
Yes?
I’m…I don’t know what I am.
Do you want to talk about it?
Well, yes and no. I can’t seem to get going with my writing.
What happened?
Nothing happened. You’re taking a break.
The last thing I remember is writing four articles and
having a really big writing day… It was Saturday. It was a 2,700-word day. It
seemed bigger than that. It felt like a 5,000-word day to me.
So, you’re not remembering things well.
I guess.
If you had a job and were expected to be productive no
matter how you felt that would be one thing.
Yes. All of my jobs have been like that.
So, no hungover days.
Well, I can’t say that didn’t happen, though it was a long
time ago.
So, do you feel hungover?
I think I was sick.
No, I mean right now. Could you get dressed and go to
work?
I don’t think so.
You are asking yourself to write. What’s the
difference?
I haven’t been drinking.
Well, that may be, but the end result is that you are
sluggish.
My blood sugar is okay. I checked. It was 107 or something
like that when I woke up.
Yes, that’s fine. But what do you remember about the
symptoms of diabetes and how there were months before your diagnosis when you
just felt sluggish?
Maybe I just need to do a slow thing. Like read one of those
cards Dennis got for me. I haven’t been reading them out in the living room,
but if I brought the box back here, well, maybe I would.
Okay. This is the card I pulled:
Prosperity
There is a missing piece
That, when found
Fulfills what was hidden from
view
I am what is missing
What does this mean to you?
It means I’m okay. I’m okay at 71. I was okay at 14. I wasn’t
seeing it all. It’s all there. It was there all along. I feel better. I feel
like a weight is off my shoulders.
Of expectations?
Yes. I need to just go with the flow. I think. That’s all I
needed. I’m good now.
You were always good.
So, I can’t always take big steps. Sometimes they need to be
smaller ones. Also, time to reflect and to allow the universe to speak to me
through a card pulled at random. The set I am using is called Rituals. It’s a
boxed set, 3 candles, some cards, and a book. Written by Michael Davis in 2002
from Chronicle Books in San Francisco. Evidently, it’s out of print, though you
can get used copies on Ebay and Amazon. It was a present from my husband
Dennis. It’s just what I need. I’m thinking I might write about these cards
every once in a while.
Hey, thanks for reading. I just needed to include a small
ritual in my day. I’ll think I will continue writing about these cards here on
Talking to Spirit.
Interestingly enough, in searching for the Rituals book, I
decided to Google the writer, Michael Davis. I wound up at a website called Spirituality and Practice –
Resources for Spiritual Journeys. I subscribed to their newsletters and might
find some guidance among them. Thought I’d pass that along too, in case you’d
like to explore them too.
So, prosperity isn’t always about money. It is about
completion. I am complete even as I am now. What a relief.
