Over time, I have created a system that is
actually a work in progress. Part of it is to always begin a story on a draft
piece of paper in Word, which I call doc 2. Not a totally relevant name, just
something that happened. Up at the top of this document, I’ve listed all the
places and dates I want to publish. They are sort of in chronological order.
Whichever is next in line is the one I will work on. It’s like a job jar where
I dip in to find my next thing to do.
This is what it looks like on that piece of paper:
Doc 2 – NEXT STORY – TTS 12/2/25, PME 12/4/25, Med 12/4/25, Substack 12/1/25, Substack 12/3/25, Substack 12/5/25, TTS 12/7/25, Substack 12/8/25, Medium 12/9/25, TTS 12/9/25, PME 12/9/25, Substack 12/10/25, Med 12/11/25, PME 12/11/25, Substack 12/12/25
You could adapt this in
other ways to whatever it is you want to write about. Like if you were writing
a book and wanted to concentrate on getting 5,000 words written in the third
chapter. Or, even into a journal where you put your to-do list at the top of
your page for the day.
I try to concentrate on psychic things at Talking
to Spirit, but there is so much of my life that is ordinary, just as your life
is. I will occasionally dip into the ordinary in these pieces, like I am
here, as I talk about what I do every day for my writing.
Being psychic is something that I tried to do; it
isn’t something that occurred naturally to me like with other psychics who were
supported as children. Was I psychic as a child? I might have been. There are
no stories about it. Personally, I believe we are all born psychic, and as your
life moves forward, you are steered toward other behaviors.
It makes sense. Who in their right mind would be
teaching 8-year-olds to speak to their inner selves? It just isn’t done in
school. Though if you’ve the advantage of being raised by openly psychic
people, then you might learn at an early age to be open to it. I’ve been
influenced by two people, both famous psychics, Sylvia Browne, who has passed
on, and James Van Praagh, who you can see in his presentations and is, at the time
of this writing, very much alive. Both are available online. I have
listed a number of psychics who were also instrumental in my development on my
references page, where a link is at the bottom of this article and over on the
side of the home page on this website.
In fact, an early lesson in being psychic for you
is to move towards the destination that attracts you.
I am retired from an office job and so am able to
keep my own hours. Most of the time I spend writing. It is here at Talking to
Spirit that I can openly speak about both learning to be psychic and teaching
you how to do it, too.
I remember when it hit me, right between my eyes,
that I could possibly learn how to be psychic. I cannot, though, tell you who
told me. I just remember the feeling of freedom that came with it. It was like
I was given an invitation: “Please, come join us in the fun.” It’s just about like
that.
This is something you can keep to yourself
forever or for as long as you wish. I felt a need to help people with it, so I
went public. I was afraid to do that. One of the first things that happens is
that you need the support of the people around you. Maybe not close relatives.
Believe me, somebody is going to object.
So, the second lesson for you is to have that dream so intense that nothing can sway you. I would also, even as early as this, offer some advice for that first year after you start channeling. Do not share what Spirit has said to you with others. I know it is hard. I did it myself, and that was where I began getting the kickback. Crushing kickback from people I thought would be happy to know what was going on in my life. Just keep your mouth shut for a while.
My husband, Dennis, is the one who supported me through all five or so years leading up to my beginning to channel, and he is still my staunchest supporter. I started channeling in 1993, when I was 38. You can do the math.
We thrive in a status quo. We are
comfortable there. It is our place. When you go to change it to something else, it is not the status quo you are trying to reach. It is an adventure,
and it is sometimes, according to some things you’ve heard, what might be
either a dangerous or, at the very least, a scary place.
You get used to it. You learn that you are not afraid like you were ten years ago.
I do issue a caution. If you are schizophrenic
or under a doctor’s care for a psychotic or psychiatric condition, then, no,
you should not seek to be a psychic. I can only advise, because you’re really
going to do what you want. All I’m saying is that wanting to be a psychic is
putting yourself on a very fast track to learning about yourself. That can be
scary.
Lesson number three. Or so. I’ve lost track.
These are early lessons all. You promise yourself and you promise Spirit,
whatever you imagine Spirit to be, that you will pay attention to your own
psychological self. Many times, when a person could benefit from some
psychotherapy, they aren’t quite sure if they should do it. For one thing, like
in my family, it used to be that no one should admit they had anything that had to do with a
psychological problem. We were the perfect family.
Some of the signs that you might benefit from
some therapy: You are sad all the time. You can’t get motivated. You can’t stay
on track. You are angry at yourself and at others. You scream at people. You
drink in excess.
Just saying. Pay attention. Opening to Spirit is
going to have those underlying conditions you’ve been explaining away for years
open up again. Like I said, you put yourself on the fast track to healing
yourself. If you are psychic, you will find yourself in service to others. You
can’t do a good job with their problems until you’ve got a good handle on your
own.
Also, nobody, absolutely nobody, is ever
perfectly well-balanced. It’s impossible. But you can be better than you were.
You are going to learn some big lessons about
forgiveness, starting with yourself, about kindness, starting with yourself,
about justice, starting with yourself. And, on and on the list goes, but by now
you’ve got an idea of where I am going with this.
I had to take a break from the writing just now
and realized this should be in a book. You might see it there again sometime,
or, at least, something like it.
Hey, thanks for reading. They tell me you can
leave comments here if you would like to. Let me know if there is some other
way I might be of service. Explore the other places I’m at on the Internet. See
you in the dreamtime.
